Summary:
This position can be performed as either a full stack developer with experience in Angular orother front-end JavaScript frameworks, or with a focus on Systems Integrations.
The primary focus of the full stack developer will be to implement user interfaces for eCommerce mobile anddesktop web apps, with a focus on performance and high SEO value and will work on a team of otherdevelopers to create final products.
The primary focus of systems integration is for developing integration components that connect internal andexternal systems using a variety of technologies.
This software engineer must focus on creating reusablecapabilities that can be leveraged by multiple applications or systems.
Essential Job Duties:
Estimation, Design, and Analysiso Work with Development and Delivery managers to size and estimate software changes and features basedupon functional and technical experience.
o Perform technical analysis to determine best ways to meet functional objectives.
o Prototype or perform proofs of concept as needed to prove out feasibility of technical approaches for newcapabilities.
o Participate in the design of system changes, where relevant to functional and technical expertise.
Development and Deliveryo Develop and deliver back-end components for applications and RESTful APIs, ensuring outcomes can becommonly leveraged by other application teams.
o Demonstrate expertise in writing quality, simplified code including but not limited to C#.
o Integrate applications with third party systems.
o Provide code reviews as required.
o Continually consider the team to which assigned, collaborating with all members and pulling work forwardwherever possible.
Production Support:
During development cycles, it is important to remember the existing production system takes priority; a nonworking system cannot have features consistently added.
In that vein:
o Ensure availability as L3 support when needed to own work that is currently in production.
o Ensure issues identified in production are opportunities to improve all future work.
o Identify areas of weakness in the assigned application suites that must be improved in order to preventproduction issues, sharing those with manager to ensure they are backlogged and evaluated properly.
o Provide comprehensive handoffs of feature/function/troubleshooting approaches to Application Supportteams.
o Assumes other duties as assigned.
May Perform other duties as assigned as a full stack or front-end software engineer:
o Develop and deliver responsive front end full stack applications, ensuring that cross-browser support iscovered for both mobile devices and desktop clients.
o Demonstrate expertise in writing quality, simplified code including but not limited to JavaScript, HTML, andCSS.
o Provide SEO solutions for single page applications.
May Perform other duties as assigned as a Systems Integration software engineer:
o Develop and deliver integration components for system-to-system communications.
These may includeAPIs, adapters, message handlers, data transformations, and Intersystems Cache data objects.
Basic QualificationsEducation &
Experience:
o BS in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent work experience.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of totalexperience within a software development environment.
o Exposure to agile development SDLC and tools, such as JIRA or TFS.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
o Working knowledge of relational databases, NoSQL databases, and caching systems.
o Ability to create self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components.
o Unit testing using NUnit or similar.
o Automating the build process for continuous integration environments.
